Good organization is key if you are to make it through your wedding planning in one piece and with your sanity in tact! And a wedding planning checklist is one tool which can help even the most disorganized bride to stay on top of things! This simple list of planning tasks will be invaluable as you progress ever closer to your wedding day, so make sure you have one and a good one at that!
Wedding planning checklists are usually free and widely available from many sources. Check out wedding websites for free to download versions which often come with a bundle of other wedding planning goodies such as a wedding budget planner. Bridal magazines and printed wedding directories will often carry a version of a planning checklist too and wedding planning books will usually contain fairly comprehensive versions.
Typically a free wedding planning checklist will follow a generic template covering a traditional wedding over an 18 month period. And whilst they may all look the same, some may contain more tasks than others which will only be apparent by reading them through carefully from start to finish. It is well worth taking your time to find a good checklist which meets your needs. You are unlikely to find one which fits your wedding plans perfectly so be prepared to do a little editing here and there.
Designing your own planning checklist is not difficult either and if you use one of the generic versions as your basic framework you will find it easy to design a checklist which contains everything you want for your wedding and which fits with your wedding planning timeframe.
I would fully recommend copying your checklist on to your computer, either by typing out a version from a book or magazine or by editing a downloaded version. Having a copy on your computer means you can come back and edit it as you need to later on and as your wedding planning progresses. It also means you can print off several copies to give to those who are helping you for their own reference. You can also use your main checklist to help you to create mini-checklists on a daily or weekly basis depending upon the complexity of the task you are working on.
A wedding planning checklist is essential for any bride who wants organize the wedding of their dreams.
