  1. get a website.

  2. see if the local newspaper has a new business section so they could do a feature story on your new business – try some local ads promoting an open house with buy one get half off or have a punch card so every time they spend $25 or more they get a punch and when the card is full they get something small or half off their next purchase – see how much a 30 sec radio ad is on the smaller networks around you – where I’m at you can get a radio 30 second ad for only $17 during prime drive time – design door knockers introducing your new business & have the kids put em on area doors – design a trifold brochure on your computer or some type of handout and bring it to places that also relate to weddings (such as jewelers or caterers) Tell them you’re willing to refer business – good luck

  3. Since you are just starting out, you will probably have limited resources with which to promote your company. So you will want to use them as efficiently as possible.

    1. Target your advertising. Don’t try to reach EVERYONE on the planet. Instead try to think of WHO your customers are and try to reach them on the basis of where they live, shop and think. Instead of using radio or newspaper ads, think of using the local Bridal Guide or a local bridal publication. The readership will be much more targeted to the customers you want to reach. If you DO use newspaper, make sure you target WHERE the ad is located. For example, you might want to run your ad on the Wedding Announcement page versus the sports section.

    2. See if there are companies or businesses that will allow you to partner with them. For example, will the local florist or wedding cake baker allow you to distribute brochures or post flyers or business cards in their shop? In return, you could offer them referrals.

    3. Go where the brides-to-be go.
Are there upcoming wedding shows or other related events that you could participate in? If you don’t have a booth, can you advertise in the Wedding Show Guide?

    4. Build a website.
The other person gave you a great idea, here. It’s one thing to pass along brochures or business cards, but a website can make you look all the more professional and allow you to customize your message based on time time of the year, etc. You can even customize your message to tie in with upcoming wedding shows and the like. A website can grow as your business grows. For example, perhaps today it’s just a list of services. By the end of the summer, you could have a page that features testimonials from happy clients.

Good luck with your business. If you run into any girls who want to get married, feel free to pass along my name. :-)

  4. Write articles about your website or ideas.
Submit your website for users to review, free!
Submit your business to Famous Business.
