   First think of a plan and write it down!

   Write down every step in planning a wedding from the first hello to the follow up after the final payment, and what your procedures are for each step.

   Second create a website and name your company.

   Next post ads in classifieds ei craigslist or local paper and list your company in directories ei yahoo! local or yellow pages.

   Then just try your hardest to get referrals and new clients.

   Hi,

   After being in the wedding business for over twenty years I have some advice that I promise will work. First order the huge invitation books from the companies that carry a wide variety. You can go to a Hallmark store or anyplace that sells invitations and get the info out of their books to contact the company and order your own. Next your cost on them is 50% of the price in the books so you advertise in a local paper or magazine that you sell wedding invitations half price and you deliver in 3 days. This is the usual delivery time. You will have brides flock to you like crazy. Then you can present your main business as a wedding planner to them. It will help you greatly if you can build up some reference letters from your friends and ask them if it’s ok for your prospective clients to call them. Goodluck.

   I don’t have the information to give you about starting your own wedding planner business but what might be a good idea to get more info would be to contact a few that are already established and find out about how they got started. Now back to what I would like to share is that my own business I make all natural soy candles and I do a wedding line that can be custumized to whatever color or theme. email me if you would like some more info. illuminessence@charter.net.
