I’m getting married in June. I totally fell in love with the idea of having my wedding reception in my Fiance’s parents back yard. I’m looking more into the details and was wondering what I need to do in order to make it happen. Ex: Noise Ordinance, city permission, neighbors??? Any info is greatly appreciated!

My fiance and I have recently been given an amazing gift. My fiance’s parents have offered to pay for our entire reception after we had expressed interest in their backyard for the wedding. We weren’t even planning on having a reception because we knew we couldn’t afford it. So we hadn’t really talked much about what we imagined our reception to be!
Their backyard is gorgeous. It has stone walkways, a small pool, a gazebo with a canopy, a huge slab of concrete that is used as a basketball court, and lots and lots of trees surrounding everything.
So far, we like the idea of a fiesta-like reception. Very relaxed and informal. We want it to be very colorful and fun.
We have decided to have a mariachi band, torch lights around the pool, chinese lanterns around the concrete slab, and white Christmas lights in the trees. We’ve also decided where the tables and chairs will go.
That’s about all we have planned.
Does anyone have any ideas for the reception and the decorations?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
