We are doing a lolly/candy buffet as our wedding favours, where is the best place to buy cute candy such as; conversation hearts, candy almonds & customised/cute rock candy?
(We only want say 2kg of each though, stores in the US would be good too as they are usually cheaper than the Australian ones)
Any suggestions would be awesome & i’d love to know any ideas you might have if you’ve done this at your wedding!
Just an opinion question… I want to have a candy buffet for my favors. My colors are peach, ivory, and chocolate. Which idea sounds better?
1. Having all chocolates in the buffet, in large ivory colored vases, tied with a peach ribbon or
2. Having peach, ivory, and chocolate candies in clear vases.
Or if you have something to suggest I’m open to different opinions.
I am trying to DIY a few things for my wedding & think a candy buffet would be a great idea specially since there is a fair amount of kids attending.
Has anyone else done it? How many people did you cater for & roughly the cost?
Do you have any good websites to buy bulk lollies from in Australia?
what did you use as the bags / boxes?
someone told me 75% as there’s always left overs at a buffet. And we’re having 85 guests, my wedding planner said tell the caterer 65.
but how does this work when accommodating for cutlery and crockery? Will the caterer be miffed that you’re asking for 85 crockery sets but only paying for less, or will they understand the left over factor?
many thanks

cheese/pineapple sticks
mini pork pies
pasta

We have around 80 guests in total to the evening reception and quite a few children are included in this. Any more ideas or if you can narrow this down that would be great! some of my ideas are probably a bit rubbish! Thanks everyone!!
Hi everyone,
At our wedding next year I wanted to do something that catered to the kids while the adults all have champagne and what not.
I thought having a mini candy buffet on a kids table, with assigned bags with their names on them would be an idea? They will also be getting activity books to keep them entertained throughout the reception, but thought this would also help keep them busy for a while and also give them something yummy to take home. The adults will all be getting a cake pop favour on their place settings, we don’t want to do a full candy buffet as my partner does not think it is something for adults.
Thoughts?
I’m helping my cousin to plan her wedding which is going to be this November. She is on a strict budget of $1,000 for her reception. We already have the venue and after calculating the rest of the costs we’ve decided she only has about $6 she can spend per person on food. We are going to do a buffet because we figured that it would be cheapest. There are going to be 60-75 people attending. So can anyone help me to plan out a menu to fit her budget.
I think she’s pretty much open, on the types of food she wants to have.
Thank you,
Shelby and Jen
I need some inexpensive ideas of different types of food to serve at a buffet style wedding reception. The wedding is at the end of April. I am having the reception in a historic rustic barn. There are about 65 guests. I feel with such a small number of people, to get a caterer is spending more money than we have to. The reception begins at 5:30 pm. We can not have any candles or sterno type things due to fire codes and this barn is solid wood. Serious answers please, and thank you.

Help With A Candy Buffet…?
Tagged Under : Buffet, Candy, help, With
My fiance and I want to have a candy buffet at our wedding but I’m not sure on a few things…so here it goes!
1. How much candy should we buy? (we are inviting 185 people)
2. Where should we buy the candy from? ( I’ve found places online I’m just not sure about buying candy online, has anyone done this?)
3. Which do you think would be better, sticking with candy in our wedding colors or doing a buffet of our favorite childhood candies?
4. If we did candies in our colors (hot pink, bright orange and yellow as an accent color, very bright and fun) what kind of candy would be a good idea?
Also my fiance thought it’d be nice to do a “mini buffet” on each table so it’d be the favor and center piece. But the more I think about that I’m not sure if it would be worth it. If we did that we could only put 3 or 4 different candies on the tables, so would it really be all that different from making little boxes of candy ourselves and having them put out? If you went to a wedding with a “mini buffet” at the table what would you think of it?
Sorry for all the questions, just really in need of some opinions. Thanks!!
