I am getting married in a small town where I live about 45 minutes away from a city. The only church out here is a super strick catholic one and I don’t really want to get married there seeing as i am not catholic. Not not mention I don’t want a full mass with communion and everything else I wont get to participate in.
I was at a wedding a couple weeks back where this couple had a guy marry them outside. He made no biblical refrences at all. It was really short, sweet and special. I’d like to do something like that.
So who do I look up in the phone book or online? Justice of the peace? Please help! Any ideas would be apreciated.
Actually I was talking with the lord with it a couple of days ago, because I do not like any church I attend and maybe the Lord will create a new church, How The way sounds Like a good name for a church. Then in church today, it talked about how people in the book of acts, when paul was out killing the christians, how he hunted for people who called themselves the way or people of the way.
Kinda thought that was cool. Maybe the first church God created was called the way, if the bible was calling his bride the way to start with…??? Children of the way….well I guess that is in the lords hands.
Is Catholic and I am Christian. My pastor won’t remarry us unless we are both born again Christians. What can I do? I really want to be remarried by a pastor. Our wedding is planned for Sept 10, 2011 and I have nobody to marry us. HELP!

We are getting married in April and were planning on doing our sons baptism during the ceremony since all our family from all over will be there and it would be a once in a life time thing for a lot of them to be able witness. Some people are hesitant because its in a united church and not a catholic one. Forgive me because I am not a very religious so I might not use terms correctly. The research I have done says that a catholic church will recognize any christian baptism that uses a certain line and the use of water. I have also read that you can do a baptism a second time? I am not really sure of the true reason why some family members are against it, doesn’t it mean the same thing? being able to enter heaven? I am really trying to compromise with them and make something work. So any suggestions or help would be AMAZING!!!!
Sadly this is just ONE thing they have opinions on when it comes to this wedding….
Thanks in advance.

My sister is atheist (and so her husband) and she married in a church. Of course once she got married, she never come back to church again…and yeah, this was all her idea, because he just wanted a civil wedding
