A question for recent brides and their mothers:
I own a wedding venue, and my brides always have major problems knowing how many guests will attend. The last bride sent 100 invitations, had 35 RSVPs, and 200 attended. They can’t plan for food, beverages, or table arrangements because they don’t know how many will show up. Short of calling all the invited guests and saying “Are you coming or not?”, how did you handle this situation at your wedding.
I can understand a few people forgetting or their reply being lost in the mail, but this is a huge problem. (I’ve have suggested they say “reception location provided with RSVP”, but no one has taken me up on that idea.)
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I have a friend who came up with an idea, having a fundraiser, to help my family. We are having a very hard time right now (who isn’t, I know) My husband’s parents died 2 weeks ago unexpectedly, & we have to move to a new state with $0 in our pocket. I am so grateful to my friend. I don’t have any money to buy something for her. But I have crafts, yarn, glue guns, etc that kind of stuff & I was wondering if anyone had a creative way to say thank you? I’ve look on Pinterest.com, but the majority of their ideas will cost me money, or are only wedding favors. I know to someone like my friend a simple thank you, is more than enough. But she has helped me out in the past & I’ve had no way to repay her. I just want to show a little token of appreciation. She’s a photographer & has a little daughter, if that helps with comign up with any ideas! My mind is a smoke bomb lately I just can’t think straight to think of anything with everything going on. Any ideas are appreciated, thank you so much.

I am in a sorority and I recently got two littles. I need some help with their plegde names.
One of them is a bit quiet but she is not afraid to speak her mind (she is a feisty little one). She also speaks Spanish, loves scrapbooking, loves fairies, and is always smiling. After graduating she wants to become a wedding planner. She is very ambitious and determined.
My other little loves, loves, loves to have fun! She is very loud, funny, outspoken, and outgoing. She is also caring and sweet. After graduating she wants to go to law school and become a lawyer. She has this little weird obsession with the legal balance scale picture.lol
I really need help coming up with some creative pledge names. Thanks

My fiance and I are also planning a wedding, honeymoon and trying to save for a house, so we don’t have a ton of extra money to buy a huge and wonderful gift. Since she has been my best friend for over 10 years, I wanted to do something special anyway. Any thoughts?

my fiancee and I have already exchanged rings, and we are getting a custom bridal set for me and a custom ring done for him in the future, neither of which will be ready by the time we get married, we want to do something for exchanging rings but are drawing blanks when it comes to good creative ideas, (tattoos are out) but what are some other things we could do in place of exchanging wedding bands?

…entertainment/games for a wedding. Its a very laid back wedding, outside, and our main goal is that people have FUN! Any ideas welcome.

The only one I ever got that was useful was a pint glass with the bride & groom’s name and wedding date on it. and a sea turtle, because they were divers. but if I get one more set of glass coasters that say love on them, I’ll scream.

I’m getting married and I don’t want to go through the hassle of making individual place cards. In the table there will be a portrait with the table name and next to it there will be the names of the people in that table. However, everyone keeps telling me that it is going to be hard for people to find their seats so I’m thinking of just drawing out a seating chart and blowing it up, of course all of this would be in the computer. However, what ideas can I use to make that chart look nice and fancy, rather then unofficial? I have heard of easels, but they can be very expensive. Are there any other ideas?
Note: I have a very small wedding (80 people max) which would constitute 8 tables.

And it’s about damn time.
After a less-than-smooth breakup from my long term boyfriend, who unfortunately loved the person he wanted me to be more than the person I actually was, I say: Screw him! Screw all of this crap that makes us believe we need to constantly search for that perfect other to feel at ease with our lives whether we like it or not.
I need to know that I can honor , commit to, love, cherish and support myself before anyone else can join in with a fair chance. Right?
I thought about doing some type of Pagan hand-fasting thing but I would need someone there to tie the ribbons, darnit, and I’d prefer this to be something personal and private. Just me and myself there.
I thought about buying a nice simple silver wedding band, some flowers, simple white dress.
And any ideas for the honeymoon would be appreciated as well I’m also flying solo there too.
How would you do it? Have you ever considered it?
