I just recently got engaged and me, my fiancee and his family all agrees that a destination wedding would be great. I was wondering the best place for a destination wedding? I have never been out of the country so I have no idea which island is best and cheapest? I was hoping for a little help on the best place for and destination wedding and the price of it? We’re trying to keep it small and intimate with only the people we really care about there. The guest list will most likely be under 100 people. Please Help!!!!!
Wedding Favor For Destination Wedding.?

I am getting married in Mexico and we would like to give an insulated travel cup to our guests. It is a 16 oz acrylic double walled cup with a straw to keep our guests drinks cold.
I want to have something funny or cute written on them (but not cheese like hearts or love). I saw a funny one that was printed on travel mugs saying “I was a mugged at Sara and Mike’s wedding”
I thought it was funny but since our cup is not a mug it wouldn’t work.
Do you have any funny ideas we could have printed on the cup?
Like “I chilled out with Sara and Mike in Mexico” or “I chilled with Sara and Mike on the beach”
or is that corny?
Thanks !
My husband’s cousin’s daughter will be getting married there at an “all-inclusive resort”, rates upwards of $750 night plus airfare for two. Three nights with airfare would be $3,800+. We were emailed the web site and encouraged to book through their planner for this resort. I use Expedia and found a much cheaper resort with 4+ star ratings around 150+ night upwards, so three nights cost $1,400. I emailed the couple and told them I was thinking of attending but staying somewhere else (we are retired). A few days later the couple sent out an email saying guests should use the resort planner, as they would love everyone to stay at this resort,” it may seem expensive but to remember it’s all inclusive”, they stated also “that this is a special sale rate,so book before sale is over”. Some sale!!! All-inclusive doesn’t matter to us and we don’t drink alcohol nor eat excessively. The wedding website said that the bride and groom get “perks” like chocolate strawberries or bottle of wine when they have their wedding guests book room through the planner. My neighbor says they get almost a free wedding, which kind of make sense because they have stated to go through their planner who only books for this resort! My other cousin will go, stay at a cheap resort, and doesn’t care what they say. On the website, beside the couple, only six other people booked, and they both have large families. The bride’s parents are divorced and do not have money for a fancy wedding. Do they get more than “strawberries” for your booking? So what would you do?????????
Destination Wedding Vs Traditional?

My Fiance and I have always dreamt of a destination wedding but now that we are planning our wedding we found out some important family members refuse to go. Not because of finances but because they are not comfortable travelling. Which is understandable we do not want to make anyone uncomfortable. How do you decide between the wedding you always dreamt of and your family?
obviously it’s the couple’s special day, so they should do it as they see fit. the idea of a destination wedding sounds fun, and it’s a kind of vacation for everyone. at the same time, is asking people to buy a plane ticket, pay for accommodations, etc. just too much?
in your opinion, how much is too much for an average cost for a guest attending a DW?
BQ: barring your real present situation, if you were planning a destination wedding, where would it be?

My best friend is getting married abroad and I wanted to get her a wedding diary planner but all the ones I’ve found are for weddings at home (includes cars, seating plan etc which she doesn’t need) anyone know where I could get one with blank pages she could fill in herself as she will need to have space for insurance, flights and accommodation

I Want To Have A Destination Wedding, But….?

I want to know if it would be easier to plan it through the hotel myself or through a travel agent?
We are having a destination wedding. I have been doing everything myself when it comes to calling & planning. We could not afford a hotel to do it or a wedding planner. I have been done planning since mind June til….my baker called & told me she was leaving her husband & had already moved out. She would be unable to do my cake. (Her & I have become pretty good friends since I started talking to her 8 months ago so I’m not upset…but!)
I’m not sure what to do, I called 6 places since then. They are either booked already, double our budget or do not deliver to the area of the wedding.
The 1 lady I talked to sounded great about doing our cake. We started planning….. it took 3 days for her to email me pretty much nothing (said she was going to send photos & cake favors etc) So I emailed her back a ton of info about our cake. She has not emailed back in 4 days. I called her shoppe 3 times & got no answer left a message twice. Its not been almost 2 weeks. We have talked once, just that first day. Should I give up?
Also any ideas on dressing up a sheet cake for a wedding? (about 16 guest & bride & groom)
I thought about calling the local grocery store to see what they could do for me.
