I am best friends with a gal (29yrs both) for past 3.5 yrs. We were very close. I loved her and sent her signals to which she also sent me back signs. But nothing official..

(This was not time-pass as someone has suggested. I had been in a relationship before and i know what timepass is and what is friendship)
6 months ago, proposed her, was super confident. She said no d/t caste problems. I was pissed off. Didnt talk to her for 3 months.

After 3 months, came to know she has having an arranged marriage on 2 months time. So, did the same folly again. Proposed her. She Said no again d/t caste problems, she said we will remain good friends always. I agreed.

But couldnt hold it for long. Coz my friendship brings along with it my feelings of love. Told her so, that i ***** be just friends with her. therefore, told her accept me as her lover or end the friendship. Its selfish i know but i coudnt help it..

she again tried to convince me for friendship. But now i got angry and told her i didnt need her frenship anymore.

Then after that i started feeling bad. So i thought of an idea- that i will be friends with her but to cut off contacts temporarily, untill i dont have any feelings left for her. Then i will be back as friends in a normal way. wrote her this in sms she replied no. Maybe she was angry coz i angrily said her the day earlier i didnt need her friendship.

I didnt do anything further. Now today i got an invitation for her wedding from her. I dont know what to react.

(I cannot ask her why she sent the invitation now and go for explatations, she wil be surrounded by all sorts of people now, and if i ask her such a Q and they came to know of it, she will get into trouble coz of this.)

Guys guys, i am not asking for advices..i know i am to leave her alone with her life and to get on with my own..

” If she said no to frenship, what is this invitation for? Is she trying to ridicule me coz i rejected her friendship? Or is it that she has accepted my no contact waala frendship?

In western or christian marriages there is a system of bridesmaid or groomsmen but in Indian traditional marriages I have never seen system of bridesmaid or groomsmen. Ya, the bride and groom have their friends or cousins around them and they have fun but never seen in any wedding the ladies around brides formally as bridesmaid or all ladies dressed same like bridesmaid and same applies to groomsmen too. Why in Indian marriages there is no such system. I think just like western in India too such system should be included. Its fun to have bridesmaid and groomsmen around. However it also create tension and stress in family if some are asked and others aren’t to be bridesmaid and groomsmen.

Okay, I need some help from the Desi users! I’m going for my cousin’s wedding in India this summer and my other cousin and I are in charge of deciding what songs to play/ dance on for the Sangeet and Mendhi ceremonies. I know all the typical songs and stuff for weddings, like Hum Aap Ke Hai Kaun, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, etc. But does anyone know of any of the latest songs that we can use? Something that’s got fast beats and stuff. Also, for the Sangeet we are doing a sort of Hum Saath Saath Hai kind of theme, where we alternate introducing people from the bride and groom’s sides of the families. Because of this, we need songs for everyone to dance on; nana nani, dada dadi, mom dad, sisters, brothers, cousins, aunts uncles, and that’s it; i don’t really think friends need to be introduced haha. Anyway, if anyone can think of some good things to help us out, we would really appreciate it!! Thank You!!
