Where did you get your education, did you go to college? I’m probably going to go to college, so what kind of courses do I need? One college offers hospitality and tourism and focuses on travel stuff. I really want to do weddings and parties. I don’t know where to get enough experience, I’ve already volunteered at a bridal gown event helping brides with dresses. But I need more. I live in Washington state, so if you know of anything that’d be helpful in this state that’d be great. Do you work at home or for someone/company etc?

theknot.com allows the bride to work on the wedding, but what I’m looking for is a website that allows parents to help as well, share & collaborate.

My fiancee and I are getting married in a few months and have decided not to have a formal wedding shower. We need all the time we have just to get the ceremony/reception planned, and also want to save our family and ourselves the cost of throwing a shower. We think it will be easier to just let guests bring the gifts with them to the wedding, if they so choose. We won’t be having many guests, so the gift table would not be overflowing and conspicuous, if we chose this option.
My concern is that including our registry information in the invitation will be tacky. We have included our wedding website (which has registry information) on the Save the Date, but of course there are people who will not keep the Save the Date for several months (it is not magnetic).
What are our options?

Sony keeps announcing mixed stuff. saying maybe the credit card info is stolen or maybe it isnt. what if they did take everyones credit card info? what should i do i’m really scared. it’s my dads and it has thousands. Also, Sony didnt meet up with their deadline saying it would be up by tues or wed, anyone have any idea when it’ll be back up?

I am looking for some websites that can provide information on the rentals of fog machines and lighting as well as some good websites for the more difficult things to find like a DJ and transportation. I am not hiring a wedding planner and have no idea where to begin. I am from Ontario (near Toronto – in the GTA) so I would like some places close to me.
