Well i am getting married may 2012, so just over a year away. But we had to book the wedding so far in advance due to our venue being totally booked up till then. But its turned into a blessing and a curse, because i like giving people a lot of notice just so they can make sure they will not make plans for that date. Because then more people (hopefully) will be able to attend both the wedding and the reception.
Well my plan was to tell everyone who will be invited to the actual wedding the date in the next few weeks, then give them a proper invitation later this year (maybe the start of next year) as a reminder. But my mother thinks this is a ridiculous idea and i can’t tell people the date of a wedding over a year in advance. But i really just want to make sure the people i want there will be able to be there.
so what would you guys do, because i know by personal experience i have been invited to weddings 4-5 months in advance and can’t make it because i have booked holidays etc, but if i had know 10-14 months before i could have maybe not booked a holiday on that date.
many thanks.
What Should The Invites Say If?
Tagged Under : invites, should, What
We are having a beach destination wedding. The “PLAN” is for the trolley to pick us up at the hotel, take us to the wedding site, then out to dinner then back to the hotel. (so no one has to risk getting lost, us being late for dinner or worry about getting a DUI)
I have a block of rooms reserved at the hotel. We are also staying that hotel. (great room rates)
As for our invites what should they say.
example: Join us for our vows: October 1st 2011 at 3pm. but what for the LOCATION??? Do I put the address closest to where we will be taken our vows since its on the beach.
How do I give out the info for the hotel? Do I give out the info for the hotel?
We are inviting about 20-25 guest
This video will give you tips and advice on sending out a formal invitation.
