Almost 10 years ago I read the first two thirds of a book for which I now can’t remember the name or author.
From memory the book was split into three parts. I remember three characters (although I can’t remember any of their names…) There was a knight, a king and a woman. The woman was in love with the knight, but she was taken to be the king’s bride. The king started as a kind hearted good king but slowly grew bitter, twisted and somewhat crazy he ended up locking either himself, his queen (or both) into their wings and never left the castle. I also remember the knight being exiled and there was something about a battle.
I realise that the details I’ve provided are quite scarce, but like I said it was 10 years ago and I’ve really struggled to remember. I’d really like to reread the book and see how it ends, I just need help to find it!

it’s set on an island with a village where a boy is born with a red birthmark, and the chief takes this as a bad sign and casts him out, so the boy becomes friends with the “ugly girl” in the village who has a drunk as a father. anyway, he builds a raft and runs away, eventually he washes up on another island where he meets this legendary traveller or something and is taken in by this man (the title has the name of this guy in it, i think), travels the islands with him and learns from him, eventually the traveller dies and the boy, now a man, adopts his name and travels back to his native island. All the villagers are in awe and offer him a bride or he asks for one, and he chooses the “ugly girl” from his childhood, she refuses him until he is forced to reveal himself to her and then she hates him even more for leaving her on the island with no friends. Oh and there’s also some bracelet that she gave him that he shows to her to reveal his identity. Please help this is driving me nuts

My fiance and I are looking for places to have an outdoor wedding near indianapolis. I am looking for something greek inspired; such as a greek inspired design and greek columns and/or pillars. Weather shouldn’t be an issue as we will be getting married in late August. Any ideas???
