My boyfriend and I are finally thinking about getting married. We don’t want a big wedding or anything like that. All we want is a paper stating that we’re married and my last name to change. How do we go about that? What do we need to take with us, where do we go, any idea on the price range? It’s the first time getting married for both of us so we’re clueless!

I’m getting married tomorow and im not even happy im super stressed out!! I love him but i dont know if i want marriage… He proposed like 3 times though i was afraid if i said no he would break up with me!! I cant call it off now though, his sister is the wedding planner and she loves me and she’s so happy for us i feel like a terrible person… What should i do??
Hi, I’m currently making a slideshow for a friend for their wedding. It is going to be played at the rehearsal dinner. The slideshow is basically just photos of the bride and groom, growing up, from birth to present day. And then there is a section in the slideshow of photos of them together as adults, dating each other.
So I need some good music in the background to go with these photos. Just to clarify, there will be one section of the slideshow that is just of the bride… growing up from birth all the way to adulthood. There will be another section of the slideshow of just the groom… growing up from birth all the way to adulthood. And then the last section of the slideshow will be of the bride and groom together as adults when they were just dating.
So as you can see, basic themes to this slideshow are babies, toddler years, teenage years, and love/dating. There are definitely more pictures of them as babies and toddlers than anything else, so theme music for that section is needed for sure. And I definitely need some good dating/love themed music as well.
Any suggestions for this will be greatly appreciated:) The music can be old or new. It doesn’t matter. The couple themselves are 27 years old if that helps in music choice. But like I said, the music can be from any time period. It just has to fit with the slideshow and sound good. Thanks a bunch!
My good friend (Sammy) is 18 years old and her boyfriend (Nick) is 19. They have been together for 4 years off and on. Nick has broken things off with Sammy 2 or 3 times in the past and Sammy was always able to find another love interest it seemed. (Sammy has cheated on Nick, too)
Sammy and Nick both JUST graduated high school this past year and have found out they are expecting a baby now. The baby was not planned. Sammy wants to get married really bad, but I dont think this is a good idea. She says that Nick’s parents won’t give them a place to live unless they are married. (the parents are very religious) and Sammy and Nick cannot afford a nice wedding so they are planning on a courthouse wedding.
Nick has a job but hasn’t been scheduled for over 2 months (sammy says this is stable haha) and as soon as Sammy gives birth, she is quitting her job at the gas station she currently works at. Nick has never held a baby except for mine and has NO idea what being a parent is like…no idea just how much stress he will go through and they want to add marriage on top of being young parents.
In my opinion, a courthouse wedding is not a good idea, nor is getting married in general this early in their lives, especially with a newborn on the way….Can someone please agree with me on this? Or am I just totally wrong to think this is not a good idea?
I have wanted to get married. I wanted to get engaged. Now that *new* things have come to light – I don’t want to get married.
All in all I think there are as many good reasons as there are bad. I just don’t know how to answer this question.
Some say I’m not putting enough effort it. Others say not to get married if I’m feeling pressure.
pros:
- Overall we get along more than not (avg over 1.5 years).
- I find her attractive and think she’s very cute.
- The sex is quite good.
- She moved 2000 miles to be close to me.
- We have the same plan for a future (family, finances, etc).
- We were both fine with getting counseling.
- I believe we legitimately love each other.
- Sometimes we talk for hours.
cons:
- Sometimes I feel like her family gets more say-so about the wedding than I do.
- Since the engagement, we’ve slowly gotten along less and disagreed more.
- We got in a big fight a couple of weeks ago.
- In anger she said a man who postpones a wedding is no man at all.
- She has told me that if I postpone she will break up with me because she can’t afford to get “pulled around”.
- I feel like we don’t have “enough” in common.
I think I have more than cold feet. I either need to relax and give in or give up and get out. I have NO idea what to do. I would really appreciate the best suggestions from those of you out there. Also, with your advice I would really like to know if you are married / divorced / remarried – All that jazz. Thanks so much.
