My Parents Don’t Return My Money Back, should I Ask Them For It Or Should I Not Coz They Are My Parents?

Hello. I am 21 years old and i m still studying. I live with my parents, brother and brother’s wife. My parents went through a financial crisis when i was in my final year of school, so they refused to finance me for further studies. I had my own aims and it was SHOCKING for me to accept that i cannot study further. Since my brother was earning and he was un-married at that time, i asked him to help me by financing my studies and promised to return it back once i start earning. But he Denied. So i started earning at my own, i did two to three part-time jobs after my college to earn the fees and managed to complete my college somehow.
Since i remained a bright student, i decided to pursue a masters degree. Now i m doing my masters. My parents have NO money or jewelery at all in store for my future(by that i mean for my wedding). I have two bank loans on me, so i m doing a part-time job to pay the loan-interest and save a little money for my future.
My father was still under crisis so recently he decided to start a new business for which he required money. My brother had already helped them financially alot in the past hence he refused to help further. So my mom asked me for money (around US $230) and she promised to pay some amount from it every month. I accepted the deal since they are my parents. I gave them the money which i had been saving for so many years for my future. I dont even charge any interest on the principal amount.
But now my parents dont even pay me the monthly installments. Upon asking they give thousand excuses and my mom gets angry and starts telling me what all favors they did to me when i was a kid (Despite the fact that i am completely independent since i did my school-because they NEVER helped me).
I stay with them, and they don’t charge me for any electricity bill, house rent, or food and washing stuff. So I feel guilty when asking for my money. But yes, my mom never cares for my food. Most of the days in the week i eat only the dinner at home. Due to my busy schedule, i don’t even use their home alot, i only come back home to sleep, so i don’t even use much of their electricity or even the house. I wanted to shift in a hostel but they didnt allow me to.
So now, i am under dilemma, should i keep nagging my parents for my money back or should i not because i stay with them?

What If You Have No Money For A Wedding Anniversary Party?

Tagged Under : , , , , ,

My parents are having their 40th wedding anniversary this December, I really wanted to have a party at my house and invite some family and friends, and have a nice party for them, with music, dancing, cake, etc. Now I’m realizing I don’t have a budget for this, as it is also the holiday season, and I just can’t do a party. I’m really sad because I wanted to do something nice for my parents, but can no longer plan this event. What would be a nice alternative to having a party? I want them to enjoy their day, I just feel terrible that we don’t have the ability to have a party.

hi everyone…
i am currently on maternity leave and have 4months left till i go back to work. rani is my first child and for her sake i do not want to go back as i believe it is important for me to give her the best upbringing possible.
i have thought about going back part time and leave my baby at nursery? but i do not know what effect this would have on her as she is very attached to me.
i could start a self employed business from home were i could manage my diary around her and hubby…
the things i have thought about are
baking home made cakes,
painting and selling Arabic calligraphy art
fashion designer in asian wear
mehndi designer
or make up artist for brides..
being a make up artist or mehndi designer would require me to travel, but it wouldn’t be long just in home town while hubby is at home to look after princess.. does anyone have any better suggestions please? has anyone been in a similar situation? please please help me as i am confused as to what i should do:-(
p.s i am good at creative things but have not got any qualifications in these fields.. i would also have to practise all the above or gain a qualification and build a portfolio before i could start up…
i need more suggestions on careers please and
please help me decide what is best. x

Hiring A Coordinator For The ‘day Of The Wedding’? Is It Worth The Money?

Tagged Under : , , , , ,

We are planning our wedding ourselves so we won’t have a wedding planner that will see to the timing, smooth transitioning of certain things, and some of the details the day of our wedding. I know this can be something that may benefit us with less stress should something arise and more precision of the details on our wedding day but I’m just wondering if it is ‘really’ worth the money?
I contacted a wedding company that does planning, decor and design and wedding day coordination and the package prices that I was emailed were pretty pricey. More than I am ever willing to spend, I’ll put it that way. I did ask if they can create a custom package based on the clients needs and they definitely can and will if need be. I still need to plan out our needs to see what our custom quote would be so I don’t know prices right now.
I was thinking of hiring my sisters friend to do be a wedding day coordinator for me – making sure the guys and girls are put together before the ceremony, the timing and music of the processional, reminding them to smile while walking, setting out favors and place cards, etc etc etc). I’m certain that she would do it for me and I really would only hire her for before and during the ceremony, because the reception really doesn’t have to be as coordinated and put together because I can give my venue and the Dj a timed schedule of events for the evening.
Is it worth it to hire a coordinator for the “day of” the wedding?
If you are married – what did you do? If you aren’t married yet – what will you do?
Thanks!
