Wedding Planning Tips

I feel that Event planning is probably the job that works for me, so I’m trying to find colleges that will help me. But it’s difficult researching because it’s hospitality and tourism in general, it’s not specific courses. I’m interested in wedding/party planning, I don’t want to really plan business meetings or someones vacation.
I live in Washington state, and out of state schools are going to be way too expensive. I need in state. Could Western or Central washington in Ellensburg be okay? Those were the colleges I wanted to go to the most before, I don’t really want to go to Washington state University. If it’s the only option that I guess I’ll go.
Any advice/tips on this? thanks!

I’m planning a wedding for this August but i have no idea what theme or anything to use! I really like the color Sangria from davids bridal. but im not sure what colors would look really good with them. i have used the color scheme on davids bridal website so i know what colors they suggest. but i want to hear your alls opinion. ((: even if i could get a intresting theme maybe i could base colors off of that. the wedding is going to be small close friends and family. im no david tuttera so i will take all the suggestions i could get!

I’ve been engaged for about two months. My parents don’t approve of my engagement, but never really told me why. I have very over protective parents and I have a very “people pleaser” personality, and I always try extremely hard to please my parents. They were very angry when I told them I was engaged, and they haven’t brought it up since. They just are acting like I am not engaged.
I graduated college recently and am working full time. I don’t expect my parents to pay for any part of my wedding. My fiance is getting deployed soon, and we were originally thinking about getting married the summer after he gets back. I’ve been dreaming about marrying him for a long time, and now that the time is here to plan and look for a dress and all that fun stuff…I just don’t even want to because my parents made me feel so terrible about wanting to get married. My fiance and I were talking about just getting married at a court house before he leaves and maybe having a ceremony when he gets back. (I say maybe because he wants a ceremony and I’m to the point where the stress of not wanting to displease my parents is not worth having a wedding ceremony).
I want to enjoy this time in my life, because it’s the only time it’s ever going to happen, but I can’t overcome the guilt about displeasing my parents. Help?

I am currently in the process of starting up my own events company and have got to the point where I need to think of my business name. I have recently completed a course in event and wedding management but am stuck on a name choice!
I personally don’t like the cliche names such as Special Occasions, Planned to Perfection etc so would like an original name with a ring to it.
I currently have ideas such as:
Coco Blush Events
Coco Belle Events
Coco Rose Events
Please offer any opinions and constructive criticism regarding these name ideas – are you likely to use this business if you saw this name advertised?
I will be offering event planning and design for events such as weddings, birthdays, christenings, showers, bar/bat mitzvahs etc and would like to offer a bespoke, boutique style service.

Ok I do event planning for a couple bars in my city… I really want to get into wedding planning eventually.. I’m starting to read some books and I may start taking some business classes. I need books and classes bc. This is soo far from what I majored in in college ( education) … Plz help me! I’m getting discouraged ppl are telling me that wedding planners always fail.. And it’s a. Waste to get involved

Most places provide their own catering that is too expensive. I would like to either find a different catering service to bring in or do our own buffet food. I also want to be able to bring in my own decorations. I live in the Lima, Ohio and Findlay, Ohio area. Please let me know if you know of any place.

My boyfriend proposed the other night. He didn’t have a ring because he wants me to pick out exactly what I want. Anyway, would it be horrible to ask him if we could just elope?? I HATE being the center of attention more than anything. I’m a pretty private person and I don’t want a wedding. also they are so expensive and I’d rather spend that money on a house once we’re married. I’d like to go somewhere fun, spend a weekend (or even a week! =] alone with the love of my life, and get married there. Just wondering if anybody’s ever ‘eloped’ & how your families felt about it? Any ideas where to go? Lol

Do you know of any wedding planners in egypt?? I am looking for a wedding venue in Alexandria, preferably outdoor and on the beach. NOT A HOTEL!! If you know of any venues/ places like this please let me know.
