sooo right now i dont have a ton of money to spend on a wedding band but my wedding is coming up and i need a wedding band. i have a kays card but and really cant afford a minimum payment of 70 each month due to all of our other bills and such. i was wondering if anyone has any ideas of what kind of wedding band will go with this ring. it is a leo and 1/3 carat so its not anything huge but i want something at least decent to go with it.

I recently got engaged about 6 months ago, before the proposal my soon to be husband would always talk about a future wedding but never really set a date until he proposed, we also talked about my ring , I gave him ideas but he never really gave me any feedback, when the day came that he proposed, I was really surprised about the ring he gave me everything that I didn’t want, everytime I get a compliment it’s ” Wow it’s really small” , ” Oh it’s cute and simple ” it just makes me feel even worse about it , I love my fiancé with all my heart, and know I’m not marrying the ring , but I’m the one that’s going to be wearing it for the rest of life, I recently went shopping for wedding bands and I fell in love with a ring that had the wedding band as well and it was the same price as my engagement ring so the sales person recommend me to trade it in for the one I really loved, so I talked to my fiancé but he felt really sad, so I feel even worse , now that he knows I don’t really like my ring he keeps insisting to trade it in , but I feel so terrible from his first reaction, that I feel I should just keep the ring and make him happy and forget about the ring I fell in love with.

So my boyfriend has been asking what kind of engagement ring I want for the past 6 months or so, but his requests have been getting more urgent, lol. I think he has a proposal planned for our five year anniversary in april.
I wasn’t really sure what I wanted but I’ve been thinking it over. I know I don’t want a diamond for various reasons. For a while I was thinking about getting a more non-traditional stone like a black diamond, onyx, moonstone or opal. My boyfriend has suggested just getting a plain band because he didn’t really understand how engagement rings work. (he was best man for a friends wedding so he had to hold on to the rings and thought that the bride just had a band for her engagement ring so I had to explain that she was already wearing a diamond engagement ring, that was just the wedding band) At first I brushed that idea off, but the more I’ve thought about it, the more I don’t think I want a ring with a stone on it. I think a plain band would be much better. I don’t really wear rings much and I don’t want to wear something that would catch on things and I kind of like the simplicity of a plain band.
So I was talking it over with the boyfriend and told him that I think I just want a band. But most couples don’t wear the bands until they are actually married so I told him I don’t really need an engagement ring, we could just buy some nice matching bands when we get married. He is set on the idea that I need an engagement ring though. So I suggested maybe just being a cheaper ring for an engagement ring (i.e. around $50) and then saving the money for the bands later. But the thing is, I don’t really want to wear a ring with something sticking out of it for the next year plus. It wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, but not ideal.
So, questions: would that be weird to have a cheap engagement ring now that I wouldn’t wear after we get married? Would it it be weird if I didn’t wear it all the time? What if I didn’t have an engagement ring at all? Would having a plain band for an engagement ring be weird too?
We’re not terribly traditional (he is more than me) and are planning on doing a courthouse ceremony with a reception afterward. I wanted to elope, but he wanted a wedding so we compromised…

we’ve been dating for nine months. We are both in our mid 40’s. We both have good jobs. Lately, he has been taking me to jewlery stores showing me what kinds of bands he likes and then asking me what i like. We both decided that we need to take things slow but that we were having fun looking at rings (his idea).
We both opened our gifts and he bought me an ipod nano with armband (loved it) and then a really nice ring with small diamonds. the ring looked like a wedding band to be honest so i tried it on on my right hand and it was very lovely. I truly thought it was real!! He didnt say anything, i just assumed it was real b/c the box stated “fine jewlery” from a well known jewlery store.
Later on i was doing dishes and tooka shower, kept the ring on all day, showed my family, etc…and i asked him if it was white gold. He said no so i was expectiing him to say titanium. Instead he said, its either stainless steel or sterling silver and that the diamods werent real but cubic zirconia. I took off the ring b/c i was doing housework all day and realized it was only constume jewlery. I told him that i couldnt wear it all day long or it would fade or turn my finger black or green. He didnt seem to upset about it. I became very quiet and was very upset that the ring was fake.
I dont know how to take this. I could easily buy myself a fake ring anytime and i have so many of them i dont wear them only when i go out somewhere nice. Why would he buy me a fake ring? He then had the nerve to tell me it was a swarovski ring but why wouldnt it be in the original swarovski box? He completely stated he was stupid and wrong and apologized.
It was very upsetting to me for i have never gotten fake jewlery from a man before. I would rather wait years and get something real than to get something fake especially from someone who has money and isnt broke. I love him truly but now im having doubts b/c he obviously didnt want to spend any money on the ring.
Whats worse is that i spent about $300.00 easily on his xmas gift and he spent about $200.00 on mine. Our first xmas together.

Ok so my husband only decided to get me something for christmas because his female workmates kept on asking him what hes got for me on our first christmas as married couple..he definitely wasnt planning anything about getting even a little because he said he was giving me gifts every once in a while like a vacuum cleaner,blender,baking wares and waffle iron ( birthday gift) and he thought its suffice ( hello!!! these are the things we both need in the house LOL)one of his workmates thought its nuts and he got offended so now he is going to a jeweler not to get me a piece of jewelry but to resize the supersized engagement ring which had been sitting on its original box since he proposed to me like 2 years ago and said it is his gift.I WAS NEVER A MATERIALISTIC person in fact i never asked him for money to spend on my personal things since i cannot work here yet ( i got here on a visa which wont allow me to work yet until its adjusted ) my aunt visited us last month and left me a couple of bucks which i spend to treat him and my son out on dinners and took him to a mall for him to pick himself some clothes that i bought for him as a christmas gift because i already wrapped some gifts for him in the past during special occassions which he never really used because he said not his type.for me he is a very stingy man correct me if i am wrong i only get a hand me down cellphone from him when i got here to use to contact my family and it was a scratchy -lucky-if -work-in -some-days type of phone and he bought himself a flashy latest iphone,this wasnt a problem to me tho as long i can eat to survive,but sometimes i cant help but to feel resentful because i think he was not being thoughtful and romantic like how he should be at this point in our lives as newly weds,recently he bought some new games that costs around 400usd and now planning to buy a new computer for himself.i do a lot for him too as what a wife only should do and tries my best every day to make him happy,he no longer eats frozen dinners now like he use to not long ago when he still lives in the army barracks and cleans the house and make him all the desserts that he loves.the army pays for our rent and gives him extra now that he has dependents so i dont think we are actually very poor not to afford to be a little sweet at times that we should

Is not wearing an engagement ring with the wedding band on the same finger socially accepted?

I have my old wedding ring I am trying to get rid of. I’m probably going to take it to a gold place or something. I am just loking for estimates on how much I may get from one of these places. The ring is 10k white gold with a princess cut 1/4 carat diamond and another 1/4 carats of little diamonds on the sides. The setting is pretty. The ring is not very big i’m size 4.5 finger. Any ideas? Again I don’t care how much or how little I get, just looking for estimates on how much a gold and gems guy would give me.

I have the dream wedding planned out and everything (from location to the last little detail on my wedding dress) and I have the man. One thing I don’t have is the ring to make it official. Will it ever happen with us or is it going to happen when we are too old to walk down the aisle? We’ve been together (friends wise) since we were 2 and 4 years old but dating wise (3 months) but three months has feel like a full year. We have a daughter together and we live together so why isn’t there a ring on my finger yet? I don’t want to sound selfish but I’m not getting any younger and he’s not either. Will my dream wedding ever happen or will it be a future wedding in the mix with someone else? He’s 24 and I’m 22, so we are old enough to get married.

my husband proposed to me on Christmas in front of all our family he lead up to giving me the ring by giving me other littke presents through out the day (tub of lotio,medicine ball and loofa) not romantic or well thought out. I said yes cause of the pressure of all my family and his parents watching. We d been together for almost 10 years. Anyways my mother told me it would be a good idea to insure the ring but my fiancee said that it was a blood diamond and any jeweller that glanced at it would be able to tell. While looking for my wedding dress with my cousin and girlfriend, my girlfriend wanted to get her ring cleaned. She suggest i do so as well…and that s when the jeweller told me it was a fake! In front of my friend and cousin! Its been a year now and we re married but i m still very bothered by the proposal and lie. Our one year anniversary was barely acknowledged. As well because of his work i had to move to another province away from my family and friends…i m super depressed and don t know whar to do

I watched this movie years ago, so I can’t remember much. But, it started when this woman went on a train and she complimented another woman’s engagement/wedding ring and asks to try it on. When she tries it on, it gets stuck, and then I think there’s an accident and the woman who she was talking to dies. Somehow, she ends up living the other woman’s life and pretends to be her or something. Any ideas?
