I am having my wedding reception in my large backyard on September 30th of this year and I really like the idea of a winter themed reception. Not a full blown winter theme- I don’t want snowflakes (other than on the cake) or winter themed favors but I really like the idea of having white and light blue for the colors and putting white and blue lights on the trees and having a cake with some snowflakes on it. The cake will look like this: http://itsapieceofcakeva.files.wordpress…
My question is, would this be really weird to have some winter themed decorations at a wedding in September? Keeping in mind that I live in PA and we just had a snowstorm in October lol
The theme is going to be fish ( gold fish ) / aquarium.
Theme Colour : Blue.
Looking for something unique and less expensive.
No almonds or sweets ( sick of them )
Pls Help…
Thanks in advance
Me and my boyfriend were discussing our possible future wedding and I’ve always wanted a massacre wedding. He said it was weird. Is it or do you think it’s a good idea?

Nothing to crazy but maybe something little to add to the centerpiece or for placement cards if u have any ideas pleas let me know. As please let me know if there are alsom any website where I can look at intresting phish/the greatful dead decorations
I’m heading off to a wedding themed cocktail party and need some help for a non typical costume idea.
I’ve already had these ideas but I think there are going to be heaps of these running around on the night:
- Shotgun wedding (pregnant bride)
- Frankenstein/Dracula/Corpse bride
- Hens Night
- Groom
We can go as ANYTHING to do with a wedding! You would think that would be easy but I’m drawing a blank.
HELP!!!!
I’m looking for creative ideas for my 1940’s themed wedding. I have searched the web high and low, but have only come up with a handful of decorating ideas. Any help would be wonderful!!!
P.S. Picture links would be the best!!!!
Thanks!!!
My best friend is getting married in the Summer of next year.. She started on her Save the Dates already.. The picture on it is of a beautiful Calla Lily… That of course is her favorite flower… The Bridesmaids are all wearing Lilac colored dresses ( it’s more of a light pastel purple, more the color purple you would find around Easter).. The groom collects pictures and things of Lighthouses, the bride is an Avid book reader. She has hundreds of books, pretty much all romance though. And of course favorite flower is Calla Lily… They are just going to do the Hershey mini bars as their wedding favors, with a cute little personalized message wrapper on them.. The problem is, they keep getting asked what their them is… They honestly don’t know, as they have only just started on their Save the Date cards.. They don’t even have centerpiece ideas yet… What would be some good ideas for them to work with? I’m racking my brain trying to help them out. They want to try to incorporate what they love into the theme, but how to do that is the problem.. Plus they are on a very tight budget, so they are trying to stay more on the low end of things. price range wise.
Hey guys! My guy and I are getting married in August 2014 (I know it’s a while off, but weddings are expensive!) We’re having an 80’s theme and we have a ton of cool ideas :
We’re hiring a bouncy castle and a giant slide (All in neon colours)
We have an ice-cream truck and a slush puppy machine.
We have a photo booth for a unique wedding guest book.
When we send our wedding invitations out we’re asking people to RSVP by sending a picture of themselves in the 80’s back, then we’ll use all the pictures in a slideshow during the reception.
Because it’s summer we have giant garden games including Connect 4, Snakes and Ladders, Twister and Jenga.
Of course we’re asking everyone to wear 80’s clothes, we also have a giant box of props (Inflatable guitars, glasses, neon jewelery and wigs etc.)
We’re using Rubix Cubes, Slinkys, Magic 8 Balls and Snap Bands as favours.
We also have giant movie posters to hang around our venue and we thought about having neon balloons in a big net above us to release as we have our first dance (Like in all the famous coming of age movies!)
Do you guys have any other ideas? I’d love to know what you think of my ideas and if there’s anything you’d add or change? Does anyone have any idea about food? We’re using retro sweets for our tables and as centrepieces, we have a 3 course traditional meal for our close family and friends. Later on we’ll be having a buffet for everyone else but I can’t think of any 80’s food or finger food!? Thanks so much! Any help is greatly appreciated
