She’s asked me to make her wedding cake which is a four tier sponge with white icing and hand made icing roses and her wedding favours which are chocolate truffles. For the wedding favours she wants chocolate truffles in little packets of six per guest. There is over 100 guests attending for sure but she’s looking at me to make almost 900 truffles. I’m not a professional baker but I do bake for friends and family and have catered the odd thing for them. I don’t make my living by working in a kitchen, I’m a stay at home mum and I bake because I like it and it’s one of the few things I have excelled well in. She’s said she’ll pay me for it all but she’s only willing to pay me £30 and I have to buy everything myself, pack her favours myself and transport it all myself. Her wedding is only two weeks away and it feels very last minute she has asked me to do all this. She is also expecting a wedding gift on top of her expecting me to buy all my ingredients to make the truffles and cake and to buy the box to transport the cake in and the plastic wrap and ribbons for the truffles.
Would it be rude if I turned her down or should I just do it?
It feels like it is too much for me to do in such a short amount of time especially as I have two small children and am pregnant with a third. It’s too much for one person and I can’t afford to pay anyone to help me with it all. I think it is a hassle and a stress I could do without at the moment. I just told her when she asked me today that I would give her an answer tomorrow once I had thought about it.

Well it can be helpful to you if those people who will also be involved in the wedding planning, such as the groom, maid of honor and your mom, have a copy for their own reference.

Your wedding planning checklist should be kept with your wedding planning notes and it is always handy to have a copy with you whenever you are out and about. Make sure you use it to its full effect though, be sure to look at it each day and check off each task as it is completed. The checklist can also be helpful in making mini checklists which you will probably find you need the closer you get to the wedding day.

A wedding planning checklist is one of the most essential planning tool you will need and it is the only one that will help you to make sure you stay on track and don’t omit anything vital to your big day!
