We are planning a wedding for June 27, 2009. When should I start registering for stuff?

I have been engaged since December and am excited to start the wedding planning. I know that bedding is seasonal, but can I start registering for things now. We are having an engagement party in October. Should we have some stuff by then?

    Wooohoooo! That is my day also!!!!! You can start registering for stuff any time you want to…..the earlier you start the more you may want to change your mind or the item may not be at the store anymore. I would just make sure to make a registery about a week before you send out the invites for the engagement party. Just let your mom and bridal party where you are registered so they can spread the word. I am not sure how engagement parties work because I did not have one so I am not sure if you gifts then or not. Good luck and congrats!!!!

    You can register–or start a registry, adding more items later–as early as a few weeks after you become engaged, but people typically register four to six weeks before their first shower. Also, keep in mind that if you register too early, you risk items going out of stock.

    Yes, you should at least have some stuff registered for by your engagement party.

    My wedding is June 13, 2009 though, and I’m almost done registering.

    Now! I got engaged Jan of 2007 and started registering Sep 07 for my Oct 08 wedding! It gives you so much time to look, pick or make changes (and believe me you will make changes)! Good luck to you :)
