Using a wedding planning checklist is an important element of your wedding planning and a tool which will no doubt become invaluable to you. You can write your own checklist but there are many free versions available if you know where to look.
Most bridal magazines will run wedding planning features on a regular basis and even when they do not have a comprehensive planning feature, they will include a brief guide with a planning checklist for you to cut out and keep. The magazine versions are can be comprehensive but they can also be rather brief and miss out some key elements.
Magazine paper is also rather thin and so as you progress through your wedding planning you could find your checklist becoming more and more illegible as each day passes. If you want to use a magazine version then it is a good idea to copy it onto your computer and print it out. You will then have a hardcopy which you can print out as and when you need to.
Other publications such as bridal directories and wedding planning books will also include wedding planning checklists. The bridal directory versions will probably be much the same as the bridal magazines, but the versions in books will be more comprehensive and there will be more advice available to you on planning your wedding. Again copy your choice of checklist onto your computer so you have a hard copy you can print out.
Online wedding websites, directory sites and wedding stores offer a wealth of wedding planning information and many offer free e-books and wedding planning checklists which you can download, whenever you need to. The advantage of these is that you will instantly have a copy on your computer which you can edit and format to suit your wedding.
Try to find a site which you feel is offering up credible and reliable information. Online forums can give you some guidance as to the best wedding websites and the best online tools you can download. When you find a site offering free checklists read them through first to find out if the meet with your needs and if they a suited to your wedding. Most are generic to a formal wedding planned over an 18 month timeframe so it is likely you will need to edit it to suit your needs. Compare two or three to get an idea of what should be included in a good wedding planning checklist.
